Northside Makers at Carols in All Nations

It's that time of year, the time for getting together with friends and family, the time for having way too much on your calendar and the time for seasonally inappropriate holiday songs. The City of Darebin is embracing all these special things tonight with their annual Carols in All Nations.

Saturday 12th December 6pm-10pm

It's a wonderful excuse to keep the kids out late, meet up with your neighbours and hairdresser and second cousins, have a sing and get a warm fuzzy glow that will hopefully last another thirteen days.

Northside Makers will have an extravaganza stall at the carols tonight. There'll be a wealth of goodies from Northside Makers members on offer so make sure you've got some cash left over after stuffing yourself at the food tents. Please drop in and say howdy to Jennie and Jay - we'll be the ones singing "We're All Going On A Summer Holiday".

The first market stall application forms will be available this weekend, at the Made 'N Thornbury market. Take the opportunity to meet the organisers, that's us, and see what we're all about.

Pick up your application form at either Finki, Konstant Kaos or Mrs Beckinsale stalls this Saturday, at the Made 'N Thornbury Market, 10am-3pm, 99 Leinster Grove Thornbury.

Application forms will then be available right here on this blog from Monday 7th September for everyone else. Get in early to be sure of your spot!

Applications will only be taken for one market date at a time, which means you can apply for the October market next week then apply for November after the October market's finished and so on. We want to give new crafters who are still building up their range (and confidence) an equal chance of applying for a stall as we go along.

This is all getting very exciting, people! Jump on board for the ride....

Northside Makers Market: Your summer of crafty fun!

A phonecall to our venue has confirmed our market dates for this summer. We admit it's a fairly broad definition of 'summer' - with four markets in October, November, February and March we're hoping to hit some nice days while avoiding January scorchers.

While December sounds like the ideal month for a market, the Northside committee decided against a pre-Christmas market as many small business crafters already have their market stalls booked. Besides, we committee members expect we'll have enough on our plates with crafting presents and going to Christmas parties without running a market as well. We may look invincible, but there's only so much working mothers can take on and maintain their sanity!

In planning our ideal market, we all agreed to avoid the colder months that keep potential shoppers indoors. Why be on a market stall in a chilly venue when you'd rather be rugged up in front of the heater reading Harry Potter like everyone else? So, a summer market calendar it shall be.

Northside Makers Markets are at a venue with both indoor and outdoor spaces, nice spots to sit down with a cuppa and cupcake, room to park prams, and smack in the middle of a major shopping strip. We anticipate many happy and prosperous market days ahead.
